Skid Row

I live in a western town and here the pioneers abound in wagoneers and minivans, building dreams and tearing down the trees to make the dreams come true. There's less for me and more for you. Here we go.

Timber, timber, everywhere, hungry mouths to feed and care for, building walls to separate the rich from need, poor from greed. A little whiskey, a little wine, I'm on the street and feelin' not to fine in worn out shoes and dungarees!

Skid row! Skid row! Skid row! So low.

For fathers know not what to do. What to change? Not a clue, their blazing trails and brothels too, barroom brawls and skid row blues. So far down, so low, so long, where to go, write or wrong. You plant a tree and you grow it tall, chop it down and build a mall!

Skid row, skid row, skid row, so low.
